LOOK | the Philippine National Police Academy Alumni Association Inc. led by LAKAN GILBERTO DC CRUZ, Chairperson, together with LAKAN JOAQUIN R ALVA, Legal Officer and LAKAN BYRON T TABERNILLA, PRO, rendered a courtesy visit to SECRETARY MANUEL M. BONOAN of Department of Public Works and Highways, represented by ASEC Constante A. Llanes, on April 25, 2023 at DPWH Central Office, Bonifacio Drive, Port Area, Manila.
The BOT discussed with and respectfully sought updates from DPWH officials about the status of its proposed projects especially beneficial for the PNPA. One of these projects is the bypass road that aims to serve as an alternative passage to Sta Rosa-Tagaytay Road in order to ease the volume of traffic leading to PNPA, particularly during its major events (reception, incorporation, recognition, graduation, and Alumni Homecoming) wherein visitors, who have been experiencing long traffic along the stretch, can eventually anticipate a substantial reduction of their travel time.
Also discussed was the most recent proposed building construction project, a 5-storey Alumni Affairs Building that will also house the PNPAAAI office at the academy grounds. The documents have also been submitted to the Office of SEC. BONOAN, thru RD JOEL G MENDOZA, DPWH IV-A.
Some legwork on the proposed by-pass road will also be taken care of by the BOT with the concerned local government executives and other stakeholders as part of the Association’s forward-looking directions.
ASEC LLANES has vowed to help the Association on the proposed PNPA Alumni Affaits Building as his team confirms the high probability of approval as it is part of the DPWH convergence projects with partner institutions, including the PNP under the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan At Seguridad (“TIKAS”) Program. Llanes also expressed his stamp of support in endorsing and pursuing this project to the Secretary DPWH.
For its part, the Association has committed to its 7,391 members that it will continue its efforts until the proposed projects with DPWH come into realization for the benefit of the Alumni and their alma mater, the PNPA.
