LOOK | PNPAAAI Visits Region 9 Chapter
On behalf of the Philippine National Police Academy Alumni Association Inc., Board of Trustees, Lakan Dexter C. Versola ’03, Auditor, PNPAAAI, and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee, led the visitation to the Region 9 Chapter in Zamboanga City from August 1-3, 2024. His visit was a blend of meaningful discussions, strategic planning, and community service.
The visit began with a productive dinner led by Chapter officer Lakan Areston D. Limos ’03, where chapter issues, concerns, and fellowship preparations were discussed. The next day featured courtesy visits, including a significant meeting with Trustee Lakan Kimberly E. Molitas ’00, City Director of ZCPO, who hosted a lunch for the PNPAAAI team. Plans for the strategic plan and the Lakan Journal 2025 were discussed.
At ZCPO, Lakan Versola and the team met with PNPA instructors and cadets, offering encouragement for their roles in the PNPACAT in Region 9. A courtesy visit to RD, represented by DRDO Lakan Romeo A. Espero Jr. ’96, followed, along with a meeting with PRO9 key officials and a photo opportunity with the cadets.
The Chapter fellowship at Bigkis Lahi Hall, Camp Colonel Romeo A. Abendan, was a highlight. Lakan Limos shared chapter updates, Lakan Jose Bayani L. Gucela ’88 discussed morale and welfare plans, and Lakan Versola presented Association updates, turned over the Chapter fund, and addressed questions in an Open Forum. The event’s success was due to the leadership of senior Lakans in Region 9 and the dedication of the chapter officers.
The visit concluded with an outreach program at the Akay Kalinga Center, an NGO serving Zamboanga’s street children. The Region 9 Chapter provided personal hygiene products and food packages. A mentoring lunch with Chapter Officers and junior Lakans from the tribureaus wrapped up the visit, highlighting the commitment to camaraderie, leadership, and service within the Lakan community.
